Mandela Effect

The Mandela Effect is where many people falsely remember the same thing. It was named the Mandela effect by Fiona Broome who realized that she and many others falsely remembered Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s, even though he was released in 1990 and passed away in 2013. There are many theories about why there is a Mandela effect. Our brains create false memories because of our inability to remember everything so it tries to fill in the gaps with information that is not always the truth. Why is the filler information the same for everyone? Some believe that the Mandela Effect occurs due to shifts between alternate realities where events happen differently. Others believe the internet influences people's filler memories because of how quickly information spreads on a large scale. And another reason is Psychological Factors. The mob mentality and social reinforcement can influence the way others think and spread the Mandela effect. Some common Mandela effects are-

The real "Berenstain Bears" vs. Madela Effect "Berenstein Bears"

The Monopoly Man does not have a monocle.

"Luke, I am your father" – Darth Vader says, "No, I am your father".

The snow white Mandela Effect "Mirror, mirror on the wall" vs. the real "Magic mirror on the wall"

In the original trilogy, c-3PO has a silver leg, but many remember him as fully gold.

Many remember We Are the Champions ending with "of the world!", but the studio version does not—Freddie Mercury only sings that line earlier in the song.
